Senior 3D Programmer - in house (m/f/x)Egosoft, the creators of the popular X space simulation game series, are looking for a 3D Programmer with a strong background in OOP and C / C++. In the role, you will develop new and improve existing functionality of our own, self-developed engine.
			You are confident in using the necessary tools and you strive for high standards. 
			You document and share your progress as well as identify difficulties that arise, react in a solution-oriented manner and support your colleagues with advice and assistance.
 This is a full-time position (on-site/hybrid) based in Würselen, Germany, and available immediately.
 
 Responsibilities:
 
	            Design, implement, and maintain 3D rendering features in Egosoft’s proprietary engineOptimize rendering performance for large, open, and complex game worlds, ensuring scalability across different hardware configurationsDevelop and extend engine tools to improve workflows for content creation and integrationTroubleshoot and resolve rendering issues, graphics-related bugs, and performance bottlenecksDocument and communicate progress to the programming team, providing guidance and support where neededContribute to planning 3D technology development, aligning engine improvements with upcoming project milestones and artistic requirements Your skills:

Your work will directly influence how factions behave, trade, expand, and compete - creating rich emergent gameplay experiences for our players.
 
 This is a full-time position (on-site/hybrid) based in Würselen, Germany, and available immediately.
 
 Responsibilities:
 
	            Develop and maintain the systems driving in-game economic simulation and faction behaviorHandle and optimize large amounts of data to ensure performance and scalability across complex, interconnected systemsWork closely with designers, artists, and other programmers to integrate AI and economy features into the gameAnalyze and balance gameplay impact of economic and faction systems to maintain fairness and player engagementContribute creative ideas to improve player immersion and systemic depth Your skills:
 
	            Solid programming skills (C++ preferred)Experience working with large, data-driven systems, including analysing and visualising extensive data sets to validate and optimise design changesUnderstanding of real-world economic systems or professional experience in economic modeling is a significant advantagePassion for AI, systemic game design, and emergent gameplayGood communication and collaboration skills in an international team environment
